On Friday, December 2nd, the Oxford Parks and Recreation Commission is once again hosting the annual Town Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Oxford Town Hall. Come join the Oxford Center School Chorus as they perform Christmas Carols. There will be great music, refreshments, a roving magician and prizes for the children. Join us as we ring in the holiday season with our local dignitaries leading us in the countdown to the tree lighting. After the tree is illuminated, there will be a special visit from Santa as he arrives on the fire truck! Festivities begin at 6:00pm. This is a fun evening for the whole family! Come one, come all! We will also be accepting donations of new, unopened items for the Toys for Kids annual toy drive, which services children of all ages throughout our area. Please give so those who are less fortunate may also have a happy holiday! If weather on 12/2 is questionable, call our hotline after 3:00pm on that day to hear a recording. Downtown Seymour
On Saturday Dec. 3, 2016 the Town of Seymour will be celebrating the holidays with an array of festive events sponsored by many town organizations including the Seymour Culture and Arts Commission, American Legion, American Legion Band, Metro North, local Boy and Girl Scout troops and Santa Claus himself! 

The evening will begin with the arrival of Santa Claus at the Seymour train station on Main Street at 6:15 p.m., followed by a tree lighting by the American Legion on the corners of Bank and Wakely Streets at 6:45 p.m.

The downtown merchants will be open and celebrating the holidays as well with individual festivities in their shops as part of First Saturday. 

The Connecticut Yuletide Carolers will also be strolling through our historic downtown in full Dickens’ costume singing the songs of the season between the hours of 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Bank, First and Columbus Streets will be closed to traffic beginning at 5:30, please park on the surrounding streets. 

Please do not park in the First Street plaza as store owners will tow your car.

Huntington Green Tree Lighting

RJS Designs, LLC (Holiday Decorators) is hosting the event. There will be music, caroling, cocoa and cookies. Santa will be stopping by on the firetruck from the Huntington Fire Company No.3.
