Veteran To Discuss How Fallen Heroes Are Returned To The U.S.

An Open Invitation to our Community Veterans,

With Memorial Day soon upon us, we reflect on those brave men and women who selflessly made the ultimate sacrifice and provided this great nation with the freedom we enjoy daily.

Military Talk

I am proud to invite our community veterans to a free informative presentation about how these fallen heroes are repatriated to the U.S., cared for with utmost dignity and then respectfully returned to their families.

Held in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia, on May 10, 2014, at 3 p.m.

The program will last approximately an hour and consist of video, slide and lecture presentation. Questions will be entertained following the program.

Our presenter, Colonel William Werner, has served in the U.S. Army Reserves for the past 24 years.

He was called to active duty following the 9/11 attacks and served in Okinawa and the Philippines as part of Operation Enduring Freedom – Philippines; then served at Dover Port Mortuary as part of the Army Liaison Team assisting in the repatriation of our fallen soldiers. He is currently serving as the Director of Instruction for a Command and General Staff College Battalion, covering 18 Northern US States.

He is an experienced licensed funeral director and embalmer.

He has an A.S. Degree in Mortuary Science from Mt. Ida College, a B.S. Degree from the University of New Hampshire, and a M.B.A. Degree from Boston University.

As previously stated, there is no fee for this presentation. Seating is limited, so a simple RSVP is truly appreciated.

Feel free to call 203 – 734-1490, with any questions. I hope to see you on May 10, 2014.

Respectfully,
