Patrick Henri of Gordon Viselli Post 50 of the American Legion served as master of ceremonies.

Rev. James Sullivan of the Church of the Assumption offered an invocation and benediction.

Mayor David S. Cassetti read a proclamation, which was followed by a keynote address from Jack Granatie, Post 50 commander.

Ansonia schools students then read essays on Veterans Day:

  • Kristyana Lugo, grade 4, and Jayden Pires, grade 6, from John G. Prendergast School
  • Naylah Mora, grade 6, and Nevaeh Davenport, grade 6, of John C. Mead School
  • Eshona Vickers, grade 8, and Elisabeth Lundequist, grade 8, of Ansonia Middle School
  • Timmy Betancur, grade 11, of Ansonia High School

A rifle squad from St. Peter & St. Paul War Veterans fired a salute, and American Legion District Commander Michael Heise played Taps.

The ceremony began and ended with singing from Ansonia High School’s chorus, led by Maria Tangredi.
