Way To Go, Denise!

On October 16th and 17th, City Hall employee Denise Cesaroni, walked….and walked…. and walked….. and walked……..in fact she walked for a total of 39.3 miles to support medical and leading research teams in their ongoing search for a cure for breast cancer.

I was inspired by the thousands of survivors, family members, friends, and others who participated, cheered us on and encouraged us to go forward. Those who have faced this illness are the true heroes in all of this,” said Denise Cesaroni.

Denise participated in the Avon Walk New York and actively raised thousands of dollars for a cure for cancer. City Hall staff supported her efforts with candy sales, sponsorships, pink decorations, a pink dress code and a surprise party, complete with cake, balloons and well-wishers.

We are really proud of Denise and her dedication and drive. It has compelled her to help with this cause that has affected so many people, including Denise’s sister, aunt and cousin. She has been training for months and we wanted to send her off with encouragement and let her know we were behind her every step of the way,” said Mayor Staffieri.

Denise and thousands of others across the United States held events to raise awareness and funding for breast cancer research in the hope of finding a cure.
