A spring snow “storm” has caused 90-minute delays at schools in Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour and Shelton.

The storm was nowhere near what the weather folks were calling for Wednesday. With the storm staying south, the Valley received a little more than a dusting. However, roads were slippery overnight.

The forecast prompted a viewer to send WTNH meteorologist Gil Simmons a humorous photo this morning, which the weather man posted on Twitter.

“This storm is a dud,” Simmons said.

Here’s the annoying forecast from the National Weather Service:

Today: Occasional snow and freezing drizzle before 10am, then areas of drizzle between 10am and 2pm. High near 42. North wind between 10 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. Little or no ice accumulation expected. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible
