A maintenance worker at the Beaver Brook apartments was injured after receiving an electrical shock Monday afternoon.

The man’s name was not immediately available. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Medics were sent to the apartment complex on Woodbridge Avenue at about 2:30 p.m. The man was on his way to Griffin Hospital by 2:35 p.m.

Fire Marshal Ray Tingley said the man was in the basement working on either a washer or dryer. There was some water in the basement.

“He touched an electrical panel and received a shock off it,” Tingley said. “I’m not sure how serious his injuries were, but they tell me he walked into the emergency room.”

Tingley said power was shut off so the managers could bring in an electrician to do an inspection and fix the problem.
