Andrew S. Moskal

Andrew S. Moskal, 77, of Ansonia, entered into rest on January 13, 2012, at Griffin Hospital. He was the loving and inseparable husband for 53 years to Rita Krafcik Moskal.
Mr. Moskal was born in Stratford on January 12, 1935, son of the late Stephen and Mary Harbulak Moskal. He was employed at Dresser Industries in Stratford until his retirement. A proud veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict aboard the U.S.S. Bonhomme Richard and U.S.S. Coral Sea. He was a member of the American Legion in Derby, Joseph Doyle Senior Center, and served on the Commission for Elderly Services in Ansonia. Andrew was an avid golfer and loved to draw and attend his grandchildren’s sporting events.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Paul A. Moskal (Christine) of Hamden, two daughters, Elizabeth Alshuk (Victor Kreitner) of Derby and Monica Masiero (Ronald) of Seymour, seven cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Merithew (Jason) of Seymour, Andrew Alshuk of Derby, Ashley Masiero of PA, Michael Masiero of Seymour, Erin, Matthew, and Casey Moskal of Hamden, a great-grandson, Jason T. Merithew, two sisters, Dorothy Mailloux (Richard) of NY, Irene Moskal of NY, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Ontko.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Wednesday January 18, 2012, at 8:45 am from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Interment with U.S. Navy military honors will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. Visiting hours will be held on TUESDAY from 4-7 pm.
