Carmen J. Angelini

Carmen J. Angelini, age 88, peacefully entered into eternal rest on January 11, 2018, at VITAS Hospice in St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury.

Mr. Angelini was born in Derby on December 30, 1929, son of the late Remigio and Mary Quadrella Angelini. He had worked as a self-employed mason contractor for many years, proudly having built many homes from the ground up, including his own. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he honorably served during the Korean Conflict. Carmen was a humble, strong and quiet person that thought about others first. A complaint from him was a rarity, even though he struggled with many ailments. He would shrug off the suggestion that he was quite a role model, but he certainly was. Carmen was an intelligent, knowledgeable person who always kept up with current events. He always enjoyed the great outdoors and spread his interest to his children at an early age, pointing out planets, constellations, shooting stars and different species of birds.

He is survived by sons, Peter Angelini (Susan), Joseph Angelini, Paul Angelini and Richard Angelini, a daughter, Holly Angelini, a brother, Michael Angelini (Juanita), sisters, Lee Angelini and Dolores Angelini, all of Connecticut and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Olga Ludwig. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Waterbury Gardens, who provided assistance and support for Carmen during the past few years. Their genuine caring and concern for him did not go unnoticed and our gratitude is immeasurable. Words cannot describe how wonderful you have been.

Visiting will take place on Monday January 15, 2018, from 9:00 am until 9:40 am in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. His funeral will then process to Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment will immediately follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
