A Tribute To Those Who Have Served

The Lorraine Judd Dance Center in Seymour recently held its annual dance recital, including this number to Billy Joel’s Goodnight Saigon.

This piece of music always reminded me of how precious life is, and those who have sacrificed their own lives for us.

I was hoping that this dance would make time stand still, and allow us to reflect, that we are still a free nation because of those who have served, who have sacrificed, and continue to serve.

My decision to end the dance with the Star Spangled Banner was in hopes, to remind us, to stand tall and be proud!

I have to take a moment to commend our dancers, it was their tremendous sense of heart filled pride, hard work and dedication, that made this tribute possible.

Editor’s note: The video was submitted by Seymour resident Frank Loda. The column was written by Diane King, an associate teacher with the Lorraine Judd Dance Center, and the choreographer of this dance.
