Update Feb. 24: The mayor announced Tuesday that hours for walking at the armory have been extended to 7 to 10 a.m. daily until March 27.

The Ansonia Armory will open its doors to residents for walking and exercise beginning Monday, Jan. 12.
“Many residents took advantage of this opportunity last year when inclement weather prohibited outdoor exercise,” Mayor David Cassetti said in a prepared statement. “I wanted to be sure to offer this alternative to Ansonia residents again this year. It’s a great way to exercise during the winter months and a good opportunity to socialize with your friends and neighbors.”
The Armory, located at 5 State St., will be open from 7 to 9 a.m. from Jan. 12 to March 27.
“I encourage all residents to take advantage of this opportunity,” Cassetti said. “It’s a great way to stretch your legs and get your blood flowing during the winter months.”
