Ansonia Burger King Closed For Repairs

The Burger King at the corner of Division Street and Pershing Drive was closed this week in order to make repairs to the restaurant’s hot water heater.

Ansonia firefighters were sent to the location Sunday March 1 after receiving a report of a grease fire.

Inspectors apparently found problems with the building’s gas water heater. Officials shut off the gas supply to the building.

The place was closed so repairs could be made.

A sign on the door Wednesday read this building is unsafe and its use or occupancy has been prohibited.”

The sign was put there by the city’s building department. The building inspector was not available for comment Wednesday.

Ansonia Corporation Counsel John Marini said Wednesday the city is working with them to ensure they have proper permits for repair.”

The Naugatuck Valley Health District will have to check the place out before it opens again.

Further information was not available Wednesday.
