Ansonia Church Raising Funds To Buy Police Equipment

Ansonia’s First Baptist Church e‑mailed the Valley Indy the info below about a fundraiser for the Ansonia police:

HONORING ANSONIA BLUE, our Second Annual Police Appreciation Day and Fundraiser, will be Sept. 23 at 3 p.m.

We are trying to raise $50,000 to purchase life-saving equipment (helmets, ballistic shields and defibrillators) which is not in the city’s budget. This equipment will not only give our officers a better chance of returning home to their loved ones at the end of shift after protecting us, our loved ones, homes and businesses but it may save the life of a citizen also especially one in need of a defibrillator before EMS can arrive.

Last year our first Fundraiser purchased all the trauma kits all the officers now wear on their belts. We would greatly appreciate it if you would help us achieve the same success this year.

We also have organized a GIVE BACK ON MAIN ST & BEYOND event in Ansonia on SEPT. 6. So far we have 20 local businesses (restaurants from 5 to 9 p.m. and shops from noon to 4 p.m.) who will give back 10 percent of their gross during that time.

See the flyers below for more details.
