Ansonia police Thursday (Dec. 18) asked for the public’s help in “locating a male who has made claims to hurt himself.”
“He’s not in trouble, we just want to make sure he is OK,” Ansonia Police Lt. Andrew Cota said.
Although Shawn Bagley’s last known address was on Hubbell Avenue in Bridgeport, he has family locally and is from Ansonia, police said.
One of Bagley’s relatives received telephone calls from him in which he indicated he no longer had a reason to live, according to a statement from police.
“It is unknown if Bagley is on foot or traveling in a vehicle and no other information is available” with regard to his whereabouts, the police statement said.
Bagley, 43, is described as a black male about 5‑foot-11 and 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
The statement from police said he has a stocky build and walks with a limp.
