Ansonia Police Chief Thanks Community

photo:ethan fryOn behalf of the men and women of the Ansonia Police Department, I would like to thank all of those people who have displayed such generosity to us over the past few weeks.

Each day it seemed that we received a delivery of food — whether it was doughnuts (Yes, we love doughnuts — the stereotype is alive and well), pizza, fruit arrangements, giant subs or trays of sandwiches.

More importantly, however, were the notes attached to the deliveries that were filled with such kind and reassuring words.

While some were printed on very nice cards, another was hand-written on the back of a receipt, it did not matter — your points were well made and most appreciated.

Many of us have also heard words of gratitude from people on the streets, both friends and strangers who were just going about their business, and felt the need to reach out.

As a nation and a society, we are all struggling with what has happened recently; and experiencing quiet apprehension on what the next hours and days might bring. Regardless, you can rest assured that your acts and words of support are appreciated.
