Ansonia Resident Feels Positive About Future

As a resident of Ansonia I need to say THANK YOU” to Mayor Dave Cassetti and his team for what they are doing for this city. Never in my life have I seen this much positive energy coming out of Ansonia City Hall.

Two years of tax reductions. Plans to rebuild Wakelee Avenue and redevelop downtown. Keeping Farrel Corporation in Ansonia. Cleaner neighborhoods. And wonderful communication with residents!

Mayor Cassetti, I am impressed.

I would like to share some of my own concerns and areas looking into the future, and I hope other residents feel the same.

1. Keep putting taxpayers first. Mayor Cassetti and the current aldermen have done an excellent job putting taxpayers first. Let’s not change this! For so long it felt like taxpaying residents were an afterthought, just there to pay government bills. Seeing how committed out new officials were to achieving two consecutive tax cuts was a breath of fresh air. Let’s keep it going next year.

2. Keep focusing on business and big picture” development. I have no idea what Mayor Cassetti is doing, but grant funds seem to pour in like water these days. I also love, love the focus on tearing down old factories and making downtown more attractive. And plans for major projects … like Olson Drive … Mayor Cassetti is right on track. But the work is clearly not done … so please keep the enthusiasm alive … we need business investment to bring downtown back to life.

3. Stay positive. Running a city cannot be an easy job, so I suppose it’s easy to get jaded. To Mayor Cassetti and the aldermen, please know you are doing and great job and don’t let it get to you.

4. Get more people involved. There are so many people that love the direction the Mayor is taking the city … we would love to be involved but don’t know how. Too often it’s only a small group that does the wok, and it’s easy to burn out. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.

I feel so positive about the future of Ansonia. Mayor Cassetti, please stick to what’s working and don’t forget that the residents and taxpayers must come first!

Respectfully,

George Noe
