The Rotary Club of Ansonia announced that Ansonia resident Jessica Cegelka is the recipient of its annual academic scholarship.
Ms. Cegelka matriculates this month to the University of Rhode Island to study pharmaceutical science.
The Ansonia Club presented the $1,500 award to her and her mother recently at the Club’s weekly lunch meeting at Antonio’s Restaurant.
Jessica is a 2014 graduate of Ansonia High School, where she ranked ninth in her class academically.
She was a CAPT scholar, and a member of the cheerleading squad and band.
In addition to her student activities, Jessica volunteered at Holy Rosary Church.
