Carter: Blumenthal Giving ‘Lip Service’ To Sikorsky Workers

Dan Carter, who is challenging U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal’s re-election in November, sent the following statement to the Valley Indy after a press conference held Monday at which Blumenthal said he is working to keep a maintenance contract for presidential helicopters at Sikorsky Aircraft in Connecticut.

Once again Connecticut loses jobs to Florida. And the best Dick Blumenthal can do is pen a letter to the Secretary of the Navy asking him to reconsider.

Instead, maybe Senator Blumenthal should send a letter to Governor Malloy and Democrats in the legislature asking them to embrace economic policies that make Connecticut a better place to grow business and create jobs.

This is so typical of Senator Blumenthal. Outrage after the fact, and the best he can offer is a strongly worded letter?

When will Senator Blumenthal embrace bottom-up economic solutions that grow Connecticut’s economy, rather than top-down where Dan Malloy and power brokers in Washington decide who wins and loses?

This is yet another instance of Senator Blumenthal paying nothing more than lip service to give voters the impression he’s doing something, when the reality is he’s doing nothing.
