Cops Charge Seymour Man With Possessing Child Pornography

A 50-year-old Seymour man was charged Thursday (April 10) with possession of child pornography.

Police said Joseph Geloso, of Beecher Place, was served with an arrest warrant while appearing at Superior Court in Derby on an unrelated charge.

According to a prepared statement issued by police Monday, detectives began an investigation into Geloso in December, after an employee from a local automotive repair facility in Seymour notified Police he had located what he believed were inappropriate pictures of minor age children inside a vehicle located at the repair facility.”

Police determined the vehicle was owned by a female friend of Geloso, and through further investigation it was determined that the photos belonged to Geloso.”

Cops then got two search warrants, for the vehicle and for Geloso’s residence.

While searching Geloso’s home they found a laptop computer which they sent to be analyzed by state police.

The machine was found to contain 56 pornographic images of underage children, police said.

Geloso is being held on $50,000 bond in the case and is scheduled to appear at Superior Court in Derby April 24, according to court records.
