Delivery Driver Assaulted, Robbed In Ansonia

A food delivery driver was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night, according to police.

In a prepared statement, Lt. Patrick Lynch said the stickup was reported at 8:53 p.m.

The victim was attempting to deliver food to an address on Dwight Street when he was approached by three black males, two of which assaulted him while the third took the victim’s car,” Lynch said. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun and the victim could not provide any further description of the suspects.”

The three men left the area in the victim’s car, Lynch said.

The delivery driver suffered head and facial injuries and was taken to Griffin Hospital, where he was treated and released.

The stolen car is a black, four-door 2009 Honda Accord with New York license plates HBY5939.

The suspects are considered armed and dangerous,” Lynch said. If the car is seen please do not approach it but contact the local police department to report the location of the car.”
