Della Volpe Recovering

Ansonia —Mayor James Della Volpe is home and anxious to get back to work, acting Mayor Stephen Blume said.
Blume gave the public a brief update on Della Volpe’s recovery during Tuesday’s Board of Aldermen meeting.
Della Volpe underwent quadruple bypass heart surgery Feb. 8.
Blume said he or a City Hall staff member are on contact with Della Volpe every day.
“The mayor’s doing well,” Blume said. “He’s antsy to get out of the house.”
Blume reported that Della Volpe’s brother took him for a car ride a few days ago. Della Volpe felt tired afterward, Blume said.
“It’s going to take a little while,” Blume said of Della Volpe’s recovery time.
