On Monday, September 10, 2012 the Derby Middle School Cross Country Team faced off against Waterbury’s North End Middle School in a 1.7 mile race, the first meet of the year.
Kiley Rodriguez led the girls with a time of 11:35, followed by Rachel Fleischer, Sara Gerckens, Nicole Rizzo, and Nicolette Tasi.
Lily Wald and Anna Chevarella also placed in the top ten.
Leading the boys was Steven Steven Stanley with a time of 10:32, followed by Joshua Vega, Akshar Patel, Chris Oliwa and Chase Boulton.
Joseph Ostuno also placed in the top ten.
The DMS Cross Country Team is advised by Michael Gozzo, Shelley Sheridan, and Jenny Ames, all Derby Public School educators.
