Derby government, the school system, Pop Warner and the fire department have organized a “fire truck convoy” to publicly honor three cheerleading squads — Junior Varsity, Pee Wee and Junior Pee Wee — who recently won national championships in Florida.

The convoy will start at 10 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 16) at the Bradley School and end across town at Derby Middle School.
Coffee, cocoa, and cookies will be served in the cafeteria.
“The mayor and the rest of the city are looking forward to celebrating this momentous achievement,” Andrew Baklik, Mayor Richard Dziekan’s chief of staff, said in a statement.
