Food Bank Thanks Derby Auxiliary Police

Dear Chief Narowski,

St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank, here in Derby, would like to extend a huge thank you for the largest single food drive ever held for us in all our years of existence!

Weeks ago, a very optimistic and friendly Officer John Izzo stopped in to say hello and discuss his plan to help.

Now today, organized and run by Lieutenant Chris Pizzi and assisted tirelessly by officers Adam Jaworski, Steve Mustakos, Steve Kish, Tim Lembo, and Jeff Wichinsky – two utility vans and over 4 cruisers full of food collected from ShopRite shoppers were delivered right to our door.

We overshot our Thanksgiving Mission: to provide a turkey and all the fixings to our needy families in the Valley. In fact, our shelves were stocked deeply enough with non-perishables to last us for some time.

We owe these fine men of your Auxiliary Police Unit an enormous debt of gratitude. You should be so proud of the good will that they have spread in the community. It was also obvious to me, that the shoppers were eager to support, not only our food bank, but also your fine officers.
