Gingerbread Wars At Shelton High School

CONTRIBUTEDThe Shelton High School cafeteria was abuzz Monday (Dec. 15) as the SHS National Honor Society sponsored the Second Annual Gingerbread Wars.

Nineteen teams paid an entry fee and were given a gingerbread house kit and a supporting board. They brought all the extra decorations, which included cookies and candy. Glue guns and frosting were used to hold the houses together.

The contest began at 6 p.m. and concluded at 8 p.m., when the houses were transported for show in the main lobby. Judging occurred on Tuesday morning.

Third place went to Snoopy’s Dog House by Lindsay Gowans, Brianna Coba, Sarah Henckel and Julia Mancini.

Second place was awarded to Have a Sandy Christmas by Maggie Fitzgerald, Melissa Jacksis, Sam Kirk and Stacie Nolan.

First place was awarded to The Festive Cabin by Rachel Ocasio, Vicky Latiots, Carlie Cannone and Madeline Bucchino.
