Girl OK After Threatening To Harm Herself

An underage girl is OK after threatening to jump off a train bridge above the Housatonic River.

Emergency personnel were sent to the boat ramp off Caroline Street in Derby after city police requested assistance with a despondent” person on the train tracks Wednesday morning.

A Derby Storm Ambulance and Rescue boat was at the ready.

Thankfully, the girl walked across the bridge to the Shelton side, where she was helped by an EMS ambulance crew and taken to a hospital for help.

The call came in at about 9:15 a.m.
