Emmanuel MacDonald is a gymnast at New Era gymnastics in Hamden.
He recently competed in the 2018 CT State Championships held in Suffield.
The boys came in first as a team and Emmanuel placed second overall.
There were six events.
He placed first on the floor, second on high bar, vault, p‑bars, high pommel horse, and third on rings.
Emmanuel is a sixth-grade grade student at Prendergast School in Ansonia.
Emmanuel and four of his teammates from New Era will compete in his division at the regional championships on March 25 in New Hampshire.
The coaches at New Era are Alex Flores and Chris D.
