Mother And Son Arrested On Drug Charges In Shelton

A Shelton grandmother and her son were arrested on drug charges Wednesday.

In a prepared statement, Detective Richard Bango said police determined 74-year-old Arlene Bruneau was selling pills that had been prescribed to her out of her Howe Avenue home.

While arresting Bruneau Wednesday, Bango said cops discovered her son, 56-year-old Richard Rich, was in possession of narcotics.

Bruneau was charged with two counts of sale of a controlled substance and risk of injury to a minor. Bango said Bruneau’s 15-year-old grandson lived at the home out of which she was selling pills.

Rich was charged with possession of narcotics, use of drug paraphernalia, and failure to keep drugs in an original container.

Police did not provide information about whether the pair was held on bond.
