Guest Column: Vote For Nicole Klarides-Ditria

State Representative Theresa Conroy has misrepresented the facts to the residents of Seymour, Beacon Falls, and Derby this election cycle. Representative Conroy is painting a rosy picture of Connecticut and asking you to believe that things are just fine. Unfortunately, this is a total distortion of reality.

The true reality is Connecticut is ranked almost last in every national ranking from business friendliness to the cost of living. These bottom of the barrel rankings occurred from out-of-control spending by Representative Conroy, the Democratic controlled majority and her friend Governor Dan Malloy.

Under the Conroy-Malloy agenda, Valley residents like you and I have seen our taxes increase and services decrease on a state level. We have seen small and large businesses pack their bags for business-friendly states. This is unacceptable, and their agenda is failing the residents of the Valley. Instead of making the structural changes these businesses gave for reason why they left, the Conroy-Malloy team keeps doing business as they have for the last several years. Their tax and spend plan hasn’t worked in the past and it certainly won’t work in the future.

What large company will be next to go? Have we really gotten to a place where the only way we can keep companies is to pay them large sums of money? Would it be easier to listen to the suggestions made by these companies and make the structural changes needed to our budget? Wouldn’t it be easier to develop a real long term plan to put Connecticut back on track again?

This is not rhetoric folks; this is the reality we live in. The only way to change the direction of Connecticut is to change who we are electing to represent us in Hartford. I think the choice is easy this November. If you want more of the same, vote for the Conroy-Malloy agenda, but if you want someone who will take on the challenges of turning the state around, vote for Nicole Klarides-Ditria.

Respectfully Yours Always,

Richard Demko
