Irving School Students Psyched For ‘One School, One Book’

The students at Irving School were very excited on Wednesday, May 7, when they met their new school pet, HUMPHREY!

The students and teachers at Irving School are participating in a reading initiative called One School, One Book.”

Every family in the school has been provided with a book called The World According to Humphrey.”

It is about the adventures of a class pet hamster named Humphrey.

Each night, families will read a chapter together. Then, each afternoon the classroom teachers will read it aloud to their students.

The students will participate in various activities related to Humphrey and his zany adventures.

Thanks to Petland Discounts on Pershing Drive in Derby, the reading teachers at Irving School are able to provide the classrooms with visits from this very special hamster.

At the end of the month, when everyone has had a chance to enjoy the story, Humphrey will be raffled off to one very lucky family.
