‘It’s A Wonderful Life: A Radio Play’ In Seymour

Seymour High School will present It’s a Wonderful Life: Radio Play” on Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 16 at 2 p.m.

Admission cost is $10.

This play is suitable for all ages and runs in one act.

The play reproduces the Frank Capra and Jimmy Stewart holiday classic. 

The play is set in a1940’s radio studio with actors playing multiple voice roles, sound effects artists, and announcers. 

The studio audience will enjoy our applause signs and meeting the actors before the production as they report for work” in the 1940s.

It’s A Wonderful Life” is being directed by senior Abigail Andrade. Seniors Anna Peel and Stephanie Perez are art directors, senior Bella Torri is stage manager, and junior Rachel Moon is technical director. 

The play is being produced by faculty advisors Brandt Schneider, Stephanie Ciccone, and Darlene Keeffe.

Sophomore Michael Starkey plays the iconic Jimmy Stewart role as George Bailey. 

Freshman Shyanne Gonzalez makes her SHS stage debut as Mary. 

Sophomore Phil Fioretti has the role of announcer, Freddie Filmore. Junior Eliana Arroyo is the Foley Artist, and junior Sophia Fioretti voices the role of Clara, the novice angel. 

The cast includes fifteen other students.

In May of 2017 SHS was awarded a HALO award for Best Contemporary Play. SHS will be producing Wizard of Oz in March.

It’s A Wonderful Life” will run at the Seymour High School Auditorium, 2 Botsford Road in Seymour.
