Jaumann ‘Surprised’ Gentile Won’t Defend Record

The following press release was issued Sept. 26 by the campaign of Joseph Jaumann.

A few weeks back the Jaumann campaign issued a public debate challenge to Rep. Gentile requesting a series of three debates on the issues including a town-hall style debate which would allow you, the voters, to ask questions.

Rep. Gentile has now stated publicly that she is refusing to engage in any debate, claiming that she doesn’t believe there is any good in debating, stopping just short of calling it a waste of her time.

Jaumann stated: I am disappointed that Rep. Gentile declined my invitation to publicly debate. Rep. Gentile has indicated she is running on her record – I didn’t realize that meant she just doesn’t want to have to defend it publicly. I wish I could say I am surprised – Linda’s votes to underfund the Ansonia and Derby schools for each of the last 12 years, her votes for the two largest tax increases in state history, and her votes and support for the legislative agenda of such an unpopular Governor leaves a lot to explain and answer for.”

This election day, vote for change and hold Rep. Gentile accountable for her record.
