Logan: ‘Out Of Touch’ Crisco Won’t Debate One-On-One

The following press release was issued Sept. 19 by the campaign of George Logan.

George Logan, Republican-Independent candidate looking to unseat Senator Joe Crisco in the 17th Senatorial District this November, recently challenged the 20 plus year incumbent to a one-on-one debate.

After repeated attempts to accommodate Senator Crisco’s schedule, the senator declined a one-on-one debate.

Senator Crisco’s unwillingness to give the residents of the 17th Senatorial District the opportunity to hear his positions on topics impacting the state of Connecticut shows how out-of-touch he has become with the people living in his district,” stated Logan.

Logan’s campaign worked to arrange debates to be sponsored by two non-partisan organizations, including the League of Women Voters. Joe’s position was he wanted a multi-candidate forum, not the proposed one-on-one debate with Mr. Logan.

I want to give all residents in the district the time to hear from their candidates,” added Logan. It appears that Senator Crisco wants to hide behind the rest of the delegation in the district, which are mostly Republicans, to prevent residents from learning about his voting record which is 100% aligned with Governor Malloy. I hope Senator Crisco changes his mind and we can come to an agreement about a debate schedule.”

Logan said he released a platform early in the campaign that highlights major issues facing the state of Connecticut: jobs and the economy, the state budget, healthcare and education.

The full platform, which includes stances on the environment, breast cancer awareness, opioid addiction and veteran services can be found on Logan’s campaign website, Logan4CT.com
