Man Found Dead In Shelton

A 56-year-old man was found dead in a ravine on Longfellow Road Sunday, though police say there are no signs of foul play.

The man was identified as Theodore Bortnick.

According to a brief statement issued Monday, Shelton officers responded to 70 Longfellow Road at 11:44 a.m. after receiving a report of a missing person.

Bortnick’s mother told police she woke Sunday morning and could not find him.

Bortnick was found in a drainage ravine on the property.

The state police major crime team responded to process the scene, Shelton police said.

The Shelton police are actively investigating the death, however, there is no indication of any foul play at this time,” according to a statement issued by Detective Richard Bango.
