Movers Charged In Shelton Gun Theft

Shelton police have charged two movers with stealing a handgun from a Bridgeport Avenue resident.

The resident called police April 28 and said he was in the process of moving when he notice his gun had gone missing, police said in a prepared statement.

Cops found the gun hidden down the street in the woods.

Detectives interviewed employees of the moving company and determined that Stratford resident Anthony Trotta, 22, were involved in the theft.”

Trotta was charged stealing a firearm and criminal possession of a pistol. He was released after posting $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear at Superior Court in Derby Aug. 25.

On Tuesday police charged Milford resident Nicholas Pach, 44, with conspiracy to commit theft of a firearm.

Police said Pach posted a $500 bond and is due at Superior Court in Derby Sept. 9.
