NAACP Leader Encourages Public To Tour PD

I am extending an invitation to the residents of Ansonia and the greater valley area to join me for a tour of the Ansonia Police Department. The department is requesting $12 million to build a brand new police station at the site of the former housing complex.

I believe it is extremely important for the community to have a large input on this request As President of the Ansonia NAACP I know that members of the community have had concerns about recent cuts in funding for the Board of Education and denials in requests for other vital services for the community.

The Ansonia Police Department will be hosting an Open House at their headquarters on 2 Elm St. On Saturday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to noon the station will be open for all City of Ansonia residents to tour.

The price of the new police department will be included in the citywide Capital Improvement Plan that must be approved by referendum vote on November 8, 2016.
