Navy Band To Play At Emmett O’Brien April 30

The US Navy Band Northeast and the Silver Dolphins Drill Team will be joining Ansonia’s 125th anniversary celebration with performances at Emmett O’Brien Technical School on Wednesday, April 30, from 12:30 to 2 p.m.

The Ansonia American Legion Gordon – Visselli Post 50, Jack Granatie, Commander, is sponsoring the event.

Navy Band Northeast, which is based at Naval Station Newport, Rhode Island, is comprised of many ensembles and will be deploying their popular” music band, Rhode Island Sound, that specializes in top 40 tunes.

The Silver Dolphin Drill Team is based at Submarine Base New London in Groton and is made up of volunteer sailors currently enrolled as students at the Naval Submarine School.

O’Brien Tech Principal Laurie LeBouthillier has graciously opened her school to allow her students and the public to be a part of Ansonia’s 125th anniversary that will be celebrated with this and many other events throughout the year.

This military-themed event is a tribute to Ansonia veterans, and Post 50’s adjutant, Pat Henri, extends invitations to them as well as the public at large. There is no admission fee.
