The Derby Police Commission swore in two new police recruits June 22.
Kristopher Matthews (on left in photo) is 22 years old is from Seymour. He graduated Kings College with bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in Spanish.
Joseph Townsend (on right in photo) is 23 years old from Meriden. He graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
Both are scheduled to begin the Connecticut Resident Police Academy in Meriden July 2.
