New Program Manager At Literacy Volunteers

Literacy Volunteers is pleased to welcome Lindsey Hutter as the new Program Manager for the Valley, including Shelton, Derby, Ansonia and Seymour. 

Lindsey will be responsible for expanding the ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and Basic Literacy programs in the Valley towns, working with volunteer tutors. 

Lindsey is a former ESOL tutor and resides in Shelton. 

Prior to joining Literacy Volunteers, she served as the Executive Director of The Princeton Review, where she was responsible for the CT, Metro NY and Western MA jurisdiction. 

She was a Community Advisor for the Summer Institute for the Gifted and is currently associated with the University Prep Program at Yale. 

Literacy Volunteers is a non-profit educational organization that recruits, trains and supports volunteer tutors. 

The tutors provide free literacy tutoring for adults who need to improve their reading, writing, and English speaking skills. 

The organization’s goal is to empower adults through literacy. 

Tutoring is conducted at locations throughout the Valley including the newest site at Walnut Hill Community Church in Derby.
