If you’re thinking of shooting up a house with your Airsoft rifle, make sure the guy who lives there isn’t a Bridgeport cop — ‘cause he’s liable to hunt you down.
That could be the lesson four Oxford teens learned Wednesday after allegedly firing plastic BBs at a house on Captain Wooster Road.
“It was random. They made a poor choice,” Resident State Trooper Sgt. Dan Semosky said.
The victim called police at about 7 p.m. and said a group had just driven by and fired several rounds at his house.
The caller, a 43-year-old off-duty police officer, got into his car and followed the vehicle while calling 911.
Oxford police pulled the group’s car over in the area of Macintosh Drive, according to a police summary.
In addition to firing the Airsoft gun — which looked like an assault rifle — a small amount of marijuana was found in the car. Three more Airsoft rifles were found in the car.
Police withheld the name of one suspect because he may be eligible for youthful offender status.
The others charged are:
Robert Griffin, 18: Charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and weapons in a motor vehicle. He is due in Superior Court in Derby Aug. 8.
John Knepple, 18: Charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. A court date wasn’t provided.
Andrew Villano, 19: Charges with possession of drug paraphernalia, weapons in a motor vehicle and possession of narcotics. A court date wasn’t provided.
An unnamed 17-year-old: Charged with weapons in a vehicle, sale or carrying and brandishing of facsimile firearms, fourth-degree criminal mischief, breach of peace, and second-degree reckless endangerment.
