An unidentified person is dead after being hit by a vehicle on Route 8 Dec. 22.
The details of the incident were sparse. It happened about 5:30 p.m.
According to a press release from Troop I in Bethany, the person was struck on Route 8 north, near exit 27 in Naugatuck.
The person was then hit by a vehicle traveling south.
The police statement did not indicate why the person was on the highway.
Police did not offer the person’s name in the press release, though they noted the person’s family had been notified of the death.
Police asked anyone with information to call Troop I at 203 393 4200.
The people driving the vehicles were not injured, nor identified by police.
