The two-person staff at the Valley Indy has a favor to ask.
Can you post your events in our “Events Calendar?”
The events calendar is the box you see on the right when you go to ValleyIndy.org.
To post an event, you need to become a registered calendar user.
After you register, a human being from the Online Journalism Project makes your account active.
No one likes to register for anything, especially when there is a delay, but doing so prevents the site from being clogged with spam.
Our calendar feature has been available since June 2009, but it’s never caught on — though we are extremely grateful to the libraries that use it.
Instead, people email submissions to post — or they tag us on Facebook.
While we’re honored to spread the word about your event, we simply cannot keep up with the volume of submissions — especially if you’re sending a photo or PDF that we have to put into our system by hand.
So we’re reminding people of our events calendar, where you can upload the events yourself.
Finally — the Valley Indy is a nonprofit. If there are any community-minded volunteers or students in need of a community service project, we would gladly welcome a volunteer to come in once a week for a few hours to help us with submissions.
