Police Charge Man With Robbery In Ansonia

Ansonia police accused an 18-year-old resident of pulling a gun while trying to steal a car on Howard Avenue.

Desmond Hamilton is charged with first-degree robbery, criminal use of a firearm, threatening, second-degree larceny, second-degree reckless endangerment, and sixth-degree larceny.

According to police Hamilton pointed a gun at a woman on Howard Avenue as she was getting out of her car.

He took her car keys and she ran off. 

As Hamilton tried to start the car the victim’s mother confronted him. Police didn’t share what she said, but noted Hamilton fled the scene.”

The crime happened Oct. 3, 2017. 

Police used DNA evidence and surveillance video to get a warrant for Hamilton’s arrest. He was charged March 28 and is due in court April 10.
