Police: Shelton Man Gave Teen Drugs, Alcohol

A Shelton man is accused of supplying an 18-year-old girl with drugs and alcohol until she passed out.

Shelton police charged the man Thursday (April 28) with procuring alcohol to a minor, permitting a minor to possess alcohol in a dwelling, possession of a controlled substance and illegal dispensing a legend drug.

The last charge generally refers to drugs that can’t be dispensed other than from a pharmacy or hospital.

According to a prepared statement from Shelton police, the girl’s father complained that the defendant had given his daughter drugs and alcohol.

Shelton detectives investigated the matter and discovered [the defendant] was picking up the 18-year-old female and bringing her back to his Shelton home,” police said.

There [he] would provide the girl various drugs and alcohol to the point where she would pass out.”

Police believe he gave the teen substances more than once.

The defendant is out on a $5,000 bond pending a May 12 court appearance in Derby.
