Police: Shelton Home Invasion Victim Was Growing Pot

ethan fry photoShelton police arrested the victim of a home invasion Friday after allegedly discovering a marijuana grow operation” in the basement of his Quaker Ridge Road home.

Police said in a prepared statement that 36-year-old William Frascatore called 911 about 10:30 a.m. saying he had been the victim of a home invasion.

Frascatore told cops he was in his bedroom Friday morning when two men got into his house through an open door and surprised him.

The two men tied up Frascatore and rummaged through the house, police said, eventually fleeing with jewelry and a cell phone.

Frascatore told police he was able to look out his window while tied up and saw the two men flee in an older silver Honda Accord with a loud muffler.”

During the investigation a marijuana grow operation was discovered in the basement of the house,” Detective Richard Bango said in a prepared statement. Detectives were granted a search warrant for the residence and seized several marijuana plants, dried marijuana and grow equipment.”

Frascatore was charged with cultivation of marijuana, operating a drug factory, possession of more than four ounces of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, use of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.

Frascatore was charged with risk of injury to a minor because children lived at the home, Bango said in an email.

Meanwhile, detectives are actively investigation the home invasion,” the prepared statement said.

As of 5 p.m., Frascatore was being held in a cell at the Shelton Police Department.
