Readers: Burglary In Ansonia, Car Theft In Seymour

Two people contacted the Valley Indy over the weekend to report property crimes.

A resident of Alcott Street in Ansonia said someone stole about $3,000 worth of her possessions sometime Friday between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Jordan Domizio contacted the Valley Indy hoping someone might spot her items at an area pawn shop.

She said she contacted police regarding the crime.

Among the items stolen:

  • 50’ Vizio smart TV stolen,
  • iPad with a zebra case (Robert Downey Jr. ss the lock screen),
  • Jewelry
  • Makeup
  • Gateway laptop

In that burglary, the criminal kicked in a back door to get in. The suspect ransacked the residence, including her 4‑year-old son’s room.

She said her neighbor’s apartment was broken into as well.

Anyone with information should call Ansonia police at (203) 735‑1885.

She reached out to the Valley Indy through Facebook Saturday, as did a Seymour woman who said her vehicle was stolen from South Main Street Saturday morning.

The woman said she started her 2004 Acura TL then ran into to fetch something from her residence. A person stole the car while she was inside.

She said police told her a person has been going around targeting easy-to-steal cars left unattended.
