Route 8 Road Work Begins June 6

State Sen. Kevin Kelly on Monday sent the following info about road work on Route 8.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime joint and crack sealing project will be performed on Route 8 NB & SB, Exit 15 to Exit 22, in Seymour, Ansonia and Derby, beginning Monday, June 6.

The project consists of joint and crack sealing a 5.75 mile segment of Route 8 NB & SB, Exit 15 to Exit 22, in Seymour, Ansonia and Derby. 

This project is scheduled to occur from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2016 to the morning of Thursday June 16, 2016.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2016 Vendor Joint & Crack Sealing Program.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 8, NB & SB, between the Shelton Town Line and Route 313. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. 

The regular work schedule for this project is 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. 

Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
