Guest Column: Salahuddin Settlement Was No Victory

Some may have read the paper and say Officer Mustafa Salahuddin was victorious with the lawsuit that he won. The taxpayers will feel that hard reality!

That was no victory, the victory would have been if Officer Salahuddin was still a loving, respected member of the Ansonia Police Department.

He is not because he was harassed, ridiculed, defamed and ultimately turned off to the public service that so many of us, white and black, young and older, benefited from here in the city of Ansonia.

This is a sad day indeed.

Although we did not see justice in this case (community), we will not let that stop us.

We will move forward with pride, dignity and integrity until the phrase and justice for all” really means justice for all.

Regrettably submitted by Greg Johnson Sr. NAACP President.
