Seymour Dems Tap Roy For First Selectman

Veteran selectman Paul Roy is leading the charge of town Democrats running for office this fall.

Roy was officially tapped Thursday as the Seymour Democrats’ candidate for First Selectman in the Nov. 3 town elections. Roy will try to unseat Republican incumbent Robert Koskelowski.

Roy said he wants to make changes in how Seymour is run. He and other Democrats at Thursday’s caucus focused on getting more business in town to lower residents’ taxes, something he said has not been done under the Koskelowski administration.

Things haven’t changed in the last ten years,” Roy said of the alleged lack of business development. We need to move forward.”

Democratic Chairman Steve Kulas, who is running for a seat on the Board of Assessment Appeals, said Roy is the right guy to challenge Koskelowski and the right man for Seymour.

He [Roy] has the vision to change Seymour,” Kulas said. We cannot afford two more years of no economic development.”

The rest of the Democratic slate was also selected.
