Seymour Man Charged With Threatening To Kill Parents

Seymour PDA 36-year-old Seymour man was arrested after allegedly threatening to stab his parents to death Wednesday night.

Christopher Nevers is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree assault, two counts of attempted first-degree assault on an elderly person, third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree threatening and interfering with a police officer.

Police officers were sent to a residence on Skokorat Drive at 9:30 p.m. to check out a family dispute.

According to police, Nevers and his elderly parents got into an argument. Nevers allegedly grabbed a knife from the kitchen and threatened to kill them.

The couple were able to get out of the house and were in the driveway when police arrived.

Officers saw Nevers running away from the residence, according to police.

A foot chase ensued, with Nevers running through several yards. Cops were unable to catch him last night, despite an intense and lengthy manhunt.

In the meantime, officers obtained a warrant for his arrest and found him 10:30 a.m. today (Thursday, March 19) his his parents’ house on Skokorat.

He had apparently slipped into the house in the morning hours Thursday, police said.
