The Town of Seymour is installing new monuments at Veterans’ Grove at French Memorial Park.
We are looking for veterans, alive or deceased, who entered service from Seymour from Vietnam forward and did not receive a dishonorable discharge and whose names do not already appear on the monuments.
The applicable dates of service are:
- Vietnam: (Feb. 28, 1961 – July 1, 1975)
- Persian Gulf Era: (Aug. 2, 1990 – present)
OR military actions that qualify IF the veteran engaged in combat or served in a direct combat support role in:
- Lebanon: (July 1, 1958-Nov. 29, 1958)
- Lebanon: (Sept. 29, 1982 – March 20, 1984)
- Grenada: (Oct. 25, 1983 – Dec. 15, 1983)
- Operation Ernest Will – Escorting of Kuwaiti Oil Tankers in the Persian Gulf: (July 24, 1987 – Aug. 1, 1990)
- Panama: (Dec. 20, 1989 –Jan. 31, 1990)
